About Shri Gujarati Kansara Mahamandal Mumbai

Shri Gujarati Kansara Mahamandal Mumbai was established on Sunday, 14th March 1946, 62 year ago in meeting at Vadgadi at home of late Shri Khimchandbhai Gangaram Gandhi for the betterment of Gujarati Kansara Community in Mumbai and to unite all members of community.

Ours is most professionally managed charitable community Trust where one can put full faith and trust for efficient and unbiased management, not limited to inhabitants of Mumbai only but to some extent to whole of Gujarati Kansara Community.

The institution is registered with the Charity Commissioner since 1952 and  certified under section 80G of the Income Tax Act where donation made to the trust is exempt from Income Tax Exemption No. DIT /(E)/80G/CM-927-G(5) TSC/Trust - Cell 1295 (2).

SGKMM is doing wonderful progress in the fields of education, social and cultural activities such as free distribution of school & college books and note books, promotion of national cultural music, dance & drama, organizing drawing & elocution competitions to bring out the hidden qualities and self style of students and elders, to mould their personality to  their best are the few examples of this institution's work and achievements.

Main objective of SGKMM is to unite all caste members and to organize events which can create social integration and to provide a platform which can be beneficial to the caste members in terms of educational, economical and intellectual growth. On each New Year after Diwali, we are conducting "SNEH SANMELAN" and "Bhojan Samarambh" and "GNATI PRATIBHA AWARD" annual  function to unite all the community members get them together and also invite and welcome guest from all over Gujarat.

In annual function, we organize Indian Dance, Music, Ras Garba, Drawing  & Elocution Competition, various competition, Rangoli & Mahendi Designs for promotion and advancement of cultural activities to mould personality of youth and children. We have encouraged ladies and families to participate in the activities of Cultural and Social Advancement, Dance and Drama Competition, other various competition like "VANGI SPARDHA",  "HANDY CRAFT AND DRESS DESIGNING COMPETITION", "BAJOT DECORATION", "BINDI DECORATION", "RANGOLI DESIGNING" etc.

Each year, We felicitate members from our Kansara community in all over Gujarat and Mumbai with "GNATI PRATIBHA AWARD" by Shri Damyanti and Jagmohan D. Lalani Gnati Pratiha Award foundation and "MARNOTTAR AWARD" who has contributed our Kansara Samaj by various means.

We are running Shrimati Mrudula and Laxmichand V. Kalithiya and Vasantrai Gopalji Sanghvi - MEDICAL HELPLINE PROJECT to help community members for medical help and medical aids.

From the very first year we are giving Medals and Prizes to the students. We intend to give school and college fees, Scholarship for higher & technical studies and every possible help for education.

We have established and maintained "EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION" for the benefits of members of the Trust and Society people at large.

We have established and maintained "MEDICAL AND REHABILITATION FOUNDATION" for the benefits of members of the Trust and Society people at large.

We have established and maintained "AROGYADHAM" for the purpose of "MEDICAL AID" and to provide Reading Room, Library Room, Lecture Hall, and Students Educational Hostel.

We give Momento every year by way of Lahani.                

This Mahamandal is functioning very successfully and looking forward for it's bright future.
